~ October's training night 4 mile time trial NAME MONTH TIME ~ Aviemore Half Marathon and 10k - October 16th An excellent day for running and probably some of the best scenery anywhere in the UK for the Aviemore Half Marathon and 10k. The half marathon started at the Badaguish outdoor centre and finished at the Macdonald Highland Hotel resort in Aviemore along with the 10k runners. A really well organised event and well supported by both the runners and spectators who were cheering everyone across the finish line. ~ Bennachie Hill Race - 9th October 31st - Gerald Angus, Keith & District (1:10:22) This result gave Knod 3rd position overall in the New series of 3 hill races with a combined time of 03:04:18 ~ Inverness Festival of Running - October 2nd There was an excellent turn-out of Keith runners at the Loch Ness Marathon and the River Ness 10k with several personal best times being set. Both races contained Keith runners for whom it was the first time they had covered that particular distance. The conditions although wet to start with were generally good, with the marathon runners finishing in the sunshine. Excellent! ~ Buckie 10k - Sept 18th A relatively small but selective group of Keith Runners were in fine form for the Buckie 10k on Sunday 18th September, none more so than Frankie Barton who came home in first place to win on a damp and blustery day. Other Keith runners included Kevin Ewing, Ray Aitken, Knod, Dave Mathers, Ian Cruickshank, Amanda Cruickshank, John Lily and Ron Wild. Steve Taylor cheered everyone over the finishing line offering great vocal support after a heavy Sunday Lunch prevented him running. MARAFUN
Several Keith & District and JS Keith runners took part in the Marafun event around the streets of Elgin. Teams of 5 runners each ran a 5.2 miles leg of the race. Some great support and fine weather made for an enjoyable day and raised money for local charities. Keith & District men’s first team (Frankie, Nick, Paul, John. Mike) were second overall in the men’s club runners category. The Keith & District ladies (Elaine, Kim, Angela, Marianne, Leanne) emulated the men by finishing second in the women’s club runners category. Keith and District 2 -THE SEQUEL (Mal, Clive, Ron, Kevin, Keith) were the second men’s team who also ran well but well outside the prizes.

A fine team performance by the Keith & District runners in the final race of the Northern Scot 10k series. The flat Benromach course at Forres was made difficult by the heat and wind. Lead Keith runner was Frankie Barton who finished 2nd in the race closely heading off challenges from fellow Keith runners John Goodall (4th) and Jeremy Whittet (5th). There was also a PB for Keith Webster shaving about 30 seconds off his previous best. Not surprisingly, with 3 runners in the top five placings, K&D AAC took the men’s team prize. First K&D AAC female was Marianne MacWilliam who was the 10th woman home.

Keith members said farewell to their outgoing Secretary Barbara Anderson at the recent K&D AGM. Barbara is leaving the area and will be greatly missed as a secretary, runner and a friend. Angela Reid was voted in as new club Secretary, Gerald Angus (Knod) will be our new President and Marie Third remains as Treasurer. Ron Wild became a committee member / race administrator. At the AGM it was decided that K&D should try and encourage new members to join the club and more actively support athletes in the 'District'. One way to do this would be to hold occasional training nights at venues in surrounding towns. Every sixth week, a whole group training night could be held at either Aberlour, Buckie, Dufftown or Huntly. Meanwhile, AOB included additional Marafun teams, and to inform the Secretary if you would like a long sleeved Club shirt or a club running jacket.
~Excellent running by John Goodall at the Inverness Half Marathon saw him claim overall 10th position and first male in the 50+ category.

Pictures from Dornoch X-country

Another strong turn-out of Keith runners for the final X-country race at Dornoch.
Leading the way was John Goodall who finished in 5th place (40:29) on the day which
was good enough to pick up the first place super-vet prize for the series.
Keith men completed a clear sweep in the super-vets category with Frankie Barton
picking up 2nd place and Ray Aiken 3rd place. The men’s team finish in 2nd place for the series and the women 4th overall. The remainder of the men at Dornoch were Paul Murdoch 9th (42:09), Ross Arbuckle 13th (42:54), Frankie Barton 14th (43:15) Knod, running in an old style vest, 21st (46:41), Ray Aiken 24th (47:53) and Ron Wild 41st (61:40). Jog Scotland Keith and Keith and District Amateur Athletics Club have been working together
recently to discuss the potential of creating a Junior Athletics Group. It is hoped to start this new group towards the end of March following coach education training by local leaders/coaches. The Moray Council Sports Development team are currently delivering free junior athletics
sessions in Keith through funding obtained from the Proceeds of Crime Act. These sessions are currently being attended by 46 youngsters so it is imperative that there is a pathway for these youngsters to continue their participation in athletics when this ten week block comes to an end. More info to follow. In the meantime, any comments/feedback on this area please contact Kim Paterson on 07814 203502.

Frankie Barton and Ray Aiken took themselves down to Kirkcaldy on Saturday 5th February
for the Scottish National Masters CC Championships. Both gave creditable performances Frankie clocked 36.32 finishing 4th in the M55 category - 44th overall. Ray's time of 40:04
gave him 9th in the M55 category - 102rd place overall from a field of 200 starters.
An excellent turn out of Keith members for the Nairn X-country and a great result for the
men and women’s teams. With just about perfect conditions for running a large men’s field
saw Keith come out on top lead by John Goodall (3rd) Paul Murdoch (9th) Mike Stewart (10th)
and Frankie Barton (14th). Other non-scoring runners were Ross Arbuckle (15th) Knod (24th) Chris Drury (49th) and Ron Wild (53rd). The women’s team were third overall lead by Marianne Macwilliam (11th) Barbara Anderson (18th) and Eleanor Munro (22nd).

There was an unusually low turn out of Keith members for the Forres X-country race; the fixture had been rearranged from Dornoch due to the dangerous course conditions in East Sutherland John Goodall put in a strong performance and finished 3rd with Frankie Barton slightly further back in 12th position. The rest of the men’s team consisted of Ray Aiken (25th) and Chris Drury (35th). Only two women represented Keith - stalwart Eleanor Munro, and Marianne Macwilliam

New Year's Day saw the annual Buckie 7K Detox run; a small but select number of competitors included the Keith members John Goodall, Steve Taylor, Clive Streeter and Ron Wild.

Last year's news
Dec 2010
Fortunately the snow cleared away rapidly enough for the 2010 Lossiemouth 10-mile Turkey Trot to go ahead, with Frankie Barton coming 5th overall and picking up first Supervet. Closely following in 2nd Supervet position was John Goodall. There were fine debuts from Kevin Ewing, Keith Webster, and Amanda Cruickshank, as well as the up and coming Rebecca Taylor, who was guided round by Nick Brown. Steven Taylor made a welcome return to racing, whilst Elaine Brown marginally missed out on a PB. Stalwart runners Malcolm Smith, Ron Wild and Wenzel Dunnett all added to the large K&D turnout.
Nov 2010
Due to the distance involved in travelling to Keith, as well as the hazards of journeying over winter, some Buckie-based members have decided to meet up at the Swimming Pool car park on Wednesday nights at 7pm.
Emulating Steven Cox's impressive earlier achievements, Brodie and Dylan Christie showed great promise by winning their respective age groups in the Boys Brigade regional finals. Well done lads.
John Goodall's good form throughout the year saw him in 1st supervet position in a time of 36.09 at the NoS Cross Country League race at Quarrywood in Elgin. Only a matter of seconds behind were Jeremy Whittet and Paul Murdoch, with Frankie Barton making up the Mens' Team for a 2nd place position. Eleanor Munro, supported by Marie Third, made a welcome comeback in the Ladies Race.
Oct 2010
Well done to Keith and District AAC for hosting a successful (if not muddy) NoS Cross Country League event. A large number of club members turned out to participate and/or assist in order to make the day go well. The Mens' Team of John Goodall, Frankie Barron, Mike Stewart and Frank Barton managed another second place position.
An Inverness Harrier junior discovers the joys of the Keith Cross Country route!
Oct 2010
Judging by their performances in rest of the year, it was of little surprise that Leanne Barry (46.02) and Paul Murdoch (1.19.48) achieved personal bests in the Aviemore 10k and Half Marathon respectively. Marie Third put in yet another fine long distance run in the Half (1.54.40).
We are hosting the next NoS Cross Country League races in the early afternoon of Sat 30th October meeting at the Keith Community Centre. Secretary Barbara Anderson has put an appeal out to anyone who can help on the day with course set up, marshalling, catering, cleaning etc.

For the first time in many years, Keith and District AAC entered a Ladies Team in the NoS Cross Country Team Relay Races in Inverness. Angela Reid, Leanne Barry and Elaine Brown (above) carried the flag for the club and came a very respectable 4th place. Meanwhile, the Mens Team of John Goodall, Nick Brown, Jeremy Whittet and Frankie Barton were leading in the men's race until taking a wrong turning to end up out of the medals.
Guided along by experienced marathon runners Marie Third (4.33.05) and Ron Wild (4.52.11), former Jog Scotland members Angela Reid (3.46.37), Leanne Barry (3.47.36), and Kim Paterson (4.13.53) all achieved brilliant times in their debuts at the Loch Ness Marathon.
Elaine Brown achieved yet another PB in the Inverness 10k with a time of 46.28. Husband Nick was first home for K&D AAC in 36.29, closely followed by Frankie Barron 36.36.
John Goodall, Mike Stewart, Jeremy Whittet, Ray Aiken, and Gerald Angus all ran well in the Lochaber Cross Country race and, as well as picking up 2nd place in the Mens Team event, importantly kept Keith and District AAC in the hunt for the NoS CC League title.
Sept 2010
Experienced marathon runners Gerald Angus and Barbara Anderson added the Warsaw Marathon to their medals collection in fine times of 3.53.02 and 4.33.02 respectively.
Despite the looming preparations for the Loch Ness Marathon, there was still a great turnout at the 11th year of the Buckie 10k. This year's event received NoS Championship status and Frankie Barton was in contention until the final corners, coming 4th in a time of 34.05. John Goodall in 5th (34.38) and Jeremy Whittet in 6th (34.48) helped to secure a 1st Mens Team placing. Not far behind were Paul Murdoch (35.30), Mike Stewart (35.37),Frankie Barron (36.20) and Nick Brown (37.02). A great run by 'new boys' Kevin Ewing and Ray Aiken saw them home in 38.54 and 39.36 respectively, whilst returning to form was Steven Cox in 40.05. The K&D ladies were ably represented by Elaine Brown who ran yet another PB in 47.05 and Amanda Cruickshank who also ran consistently again in 55.04. Ron Wild managed to sandwich his 10k run in between the Moray and Inverness Marathons with a time of 48.33. Finally, congratulations to K&D's Malcolm Smith for organising another successful Buckie 10k. (see JS Buckie information page for full results).

Some of the contingent at the Buckie 10k show off the new K&D AAC vests and t-shirts
A strong run by Jeremy Whittet bagged him second place in the Ellon 10k. Well done Jeremy.
There was a big turnout from Keith and District AAC - resplendent in the club's new T-shirts and vests - at this year's Moray Marathon festival of running. Sole member to brave the full Moray Marathon in the breezy conditions was Ron Wild in 4.28. Leading the way in second place in the Half Marathon was John Goodall (1.18.53), with Paul Murdoch (1.21.58) , Nick Brown (1.23.40), Gerald Angus (1.27.30), and Keith Webster (1.36.58) not too far behind. John's, Paul's, and Nick's efforts combined to secure K&D first place in the Mens Team race. Angela Reid led the way home for the ladies in 1.42.38, followed by sister Leanne (1.47.21), Kim Paterson (1.52.00), Marie Third (1.53.53) and Stacey Nicol (2.13.35). Frankie Barton was just pipped into second place in the Moray 10k in a time of 35.21, with Buckie's Steven Cox (41.15), and Ray Aiken (41.21) both making strong comebacks. Newcomers Amanda Morrison (52.14) and Amanda Cruickshank (55.02) ran impressively, whilst the evergreen Wenzel Dunnett (57.25) and Malcolm Smith (58.54) again made their experience count. Elsewhere on the same day, Elaine Brown finished 7th in the Vet Category in the Grantown Triathlon in a time of 1.11.20.
Aug 2010
Paul Murdoch's burst on the scene this year continued at the Dufftown 5k with a second place finish in 18.12. Having won the Abernethy 10 mile race the previous day, Frankie Barton was consigned to third position at Dufftown (19.37). Gerald Angus secured a top 10 finish at Aberfeldy (65.41) whilst Barbara Anderson received third lady prize (77.40). Gerald had previously come 16th in the Ben Rinnes Hill race, which also saw K&D supervets Dirk Verbiest and Ray Aiken taking part.
It was a good day for Keith and District AAC at the Keith Show races. Frankie Barton was just pipped into second place; John Goodall was 3rd, Paul Murdoch was 5th, Gerald Angus was 7th. Also running was Steve Cox, Keith Webster, Barbara Anderson [2nd lady], and Clive Streeter. In the 7-mile Hill Race, Gerald was 3rd; John 4th; Paul 5th; whilst Barbara was 1st Lady. Also running were Clive and 'new-girl' Amanda Cruickshank.
July 2010
We have a new Club Secretary - Barbara Anderson takes over from Steven Taylor. Our thanks go out to Steven for several years in the Secretary's post, and best wishes are offered to Barbara in her new role.
Our 2010 AGM was well attended, and some important decisions were taken: i.e. to purchase a new club kit; to hold a fundraising social event in October 2010; to assist JS Keith with the WJRM Winter Challenge 5k; to hold a new Keith 10k in 2011; to continue with JS keith Juniors (possibly by moving the night from Mondays to Wednesdays).
With a lack of road races taking place during the holiday period, Frankie Barton has been taking advantage of several Highland Show events to great effect (e.g. Forres, Aberlour, Dufftown, Tomintoul) and been prizewinning in several distances ranging from 200m to 1500m.
The majority of club members kindly came out in force on Friday 2 July to play an important role in the ambitious Coasting Around Britain project - a baton relay attempt to go all around the Britain mainland coast. Club members were successful shepherds for 'Barry the Baton' between Buckie and Gardenstown.
Some of the large contingent who took part in the COASTING AROUND BRITAIN baton relay.
June 2010
Only Calum Davidson from Aberdeen stood in the way of K&D AAC scooping all the top prizes in the Portsoy 10k. Frankie Barton took 1st place in 34.48; John Goodall 3rd place in 35.50; Jeremy Whittet 4th in 36.16; and Paul Murdoch 5th in 36.51. Well done race winners Frankie Barton, who led from start to finish in the Keith Rrrallye 10k, and Rebecca Taylor, who did the same in the Moray 5k.
Leanne Barry produced her best performance since joining K&D AAC at the RAF Base to Base Half Marathon with a PB time of 1.44.37. Close behind were Ron Wild (1.50.43); Marie Third (1.51.33); Clive Streeter (1.51.36); and Stacey Nicol (2.09.51).
Fine runs by Gerald Angus and Frankie Barron saw them taking 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the Knock Hill Race, with support from Steve Taylor.
May 2010
Our Annual General Meeting is due to take place on Wed 2 June at 8pm in the Keith Squash Club. All members welcome.
There were successful comebacks to the Moray Forest Series in Culbin with top ten finishes for Mike Stewart (28.40) and John Goodall (29.14). It was also good to see Malcolm Smith making a return (39.26), with assistance from Steven Taylor. Leanne Barry completed her debut (39.35) aided by Elaine Brown and Kim Paterson. Performance of the night went to Rebecca Taylor (34.40) who just missed out on the U-21 prize and took second place.
A near repeat performance of 2009 saw Frankie Barton (33.46), Mike Stewart (35.40), and Nick Brown (35.50) taking 3rd place in the Mens Team race at the Aberdeen City 10k. A brilliant debut by Paul Murdoch (36.54) claimed him 30th place overall, with Keith Webster (42.02) also completing well for the first time in the event. Angela Reid (47.05) led the way home for the ladies, followed by Elaine Brown (48.43), and Marie Third (50.28) and her partner Stacey Nicol (55.39).

Frankie Barton, Mike Stewart, and Nick Brown line up again as the K&D Mens Team in the Aberdeen City 10k.
A big turnout from K&D at the blustery Benromach 10k resulted in some prizewinning performances. A great comeback race from Mike Stewart (36.02) saw him taking 1s Vet place and, along with 2nd Vet Nick Brown (36.11) and 1st Supervet John Goodall (36.47), helped K&D AAC to 2nd place in the Mens Team race. Elaine Brown squeezed out another PB (47.19) in the windy conditions and earned a 3rd place Vet prize. Also running well was Frank Barron (37.29) and K&D new boy Paul Murdoch (37.52) soon followed home by Gerald Angus(39.18) then Keith Webster (43.26). Also taking part were Ron 'I've forgotten my shorts' Wild (49.42) and vintage runner Wenzell Dunnett (56.49).
Congratulations to John Goodall for winning the Northern Scot Series 1st Supervet prize. Nick Brown just lost out on defending the 1st Vet prize and had to settle for second. Elaine Brown picked up her first series prize with a 3rd Vet. Frankie Barton was a favourite to keep his series title, but missed out on the final Benromach race due to race commitments in England (see below).
A blistering 15.49 time from Frankie Barton helped contribute towards his team's gold medal in the British Masters 5k Road Relay at Sutton Coldfield. Frankie's time also earned him a silver medal in the individual awards.
K&D AAC runners are lining up to take part in the remarkable 'Coasting Around Britain' initiative (see 'Latest Press Releases'). K&D participants will link into the scheme between Cullen and Banff and are scheduled to carry the baton in the early evening of Friday 2 July.

A good performance by Ross Arbuckle saw him coming 4th in the North League Cross Country race in Elgin. Rebecca Taylor picked up second place in the Under 16s ladies section - quite an achievement in only her second competitive year.
Jan 2010
Well done to the lads who took part in the Scottish Masters CC Championships : Ross Arbuckle, 2nd place (Over 45s); Nick Brown, 6th (Over 45s); Frankie Barton, 7th (Over 50s); Frankie Barron, 14th (Over 40s).
Ross Arbuckle, Frankie Barton, Nick Brown, and Steven Cox once more braved the winter conditions (plus a run through a river) at the North League Cross Country race, this time in Nairn, again securing second place in the Men's Team event.
Congratulations to Gerald Angus and Barbara Anderson for their successful participation in the Florida Marathon (despite losing their luggage en route!).

Unfortunately due to snow and ice, the Club's Christmas Handicap run around the Balloch on Sun 27th is cancelled.

Ron Wild enjoys the post race refreshments at the Moray 5k Winter Challenge in Fochabers
Elaine Brown capped off a fine year with another personal best ; this time at the Lossiemouth 10-mile Turkey Trot. Husband Nick took 2nd place in the North Championships (6th place overall) in 58.09, whilst Kim Paterson and Marie Third completed for the ladies team in 1.19.48 and 1.23.36 respectively. Clive Streeter 1.22.09, Ron Wild 1.26.59, and Wenzell Dunnett 1.32.44 all successfully completed for the K&D contingent.
Elaine Brown finishes with yet another PB!
Thanks to everyone who contributed towards making the North League Cross Country races at Keith a great success. The enforced last minute change to the course proved to be a winner with most of the participants. The Men's Senior Team (Ross Arbuckle, Nick Brown, Frank Barron and Frankie Barton) managed a respectable second place, whilst Barbara Anderson led the charge in the ladies race.
Ross Arbuckle leads the way through one of the 'trickier' sections of the course!

Nov 2009
The Men's Senior Team (Ross Arbuckle, Nick Brown, Frank Barron, Steven Cox, Frankie Barton and Mike Stewart) took third place in the North League CC Championships in Inverness.
Barbara Anderson's concerted training efforts saw her take 10 mins off her Loch Ness time with a successful completion at the New York Marathon.
Frankie Barton ran a rare long distance outing at the Fraserburgh Half Marathon and was just pipped into second place in the final sprint by Aberdeen's Niku Millot.
Oct 2009
The Men's Senior team (Steven Cox, Nick Brown, Jeremy Whittet, and Frankie Barton) had a truly exciting race against Forres Harriers in the North of Scotland Relay Championships at Dornoch. Each runner ran a 4k cross country leg through wooded terrain and Jeremy handed Frankie a minute's lead for the final leg, only for Ben Livesley to take the crucial lead in the last turn for the line.
There were some sterling performances in the Loch Ness Marathon, despite an hour's delay at the start, with Gerald Angus leading the Keith grouping home in 3.10.35. Barbara Anderson did a fine preparation run for New York in 3.56.07, whilst Marie Third and partner Stacey Nicol had respectable completions in 4.28.20 and 4.47.29 respectively.
Nick Brown capped a good summer season with 1st Vet in the Inverness 10k (35.40) whilst wife Elaine set another personal best (47.20). Malcolm Mair successfully completed in 50.51. [see Loch Ness Marathon website for full results].
Sept 2009
Frankie Barton (2nd - 34.03); Steven Cox (7th - 35.44); and Nick Brown (8th - 36.09) repeated their efforts of Buckie with fine runs again in the Dyke 10k. There were also good efforts made by Gerald Angus (38.01), Barbara Anderson (45.33), Elaine Brown (49.15), Malcolm Mair (49.52), and Ron Wild (52.41).
Although Frankie Barton (9.41) maintained his winning streak at the third and final Moray 3k in breezy conditions, Nick Brown took the overall series title having completed all three races. Rebecca Taylor won the junior female prize.
[See 'Jog Moray Events' section for all three race results].

Others included Kim Paterson (1.51.47); Marie Third (1.54.11); Clive Streeter (1.57.07); and Stacey Nicol (2.05.22).
Frankie Barron achieved a very credible second place position (with Peterhead team mates Alan Reid, Terry Christie and Iain Cruickshank) in the Highland Monster Challenge Duathlon.
Frankie Barton ran in front of royalty at the Braemar Games Handicap Mile, and was just beaten into second place.
August 2009
Frankie Barton has started his series on autumn 10k road races with a win at the Peterhead 10k.
Another customary impressive run saw organiser Frankie Barton take first place at the second Moray 3k in a time of 9.30, with Nick Brown not too far behind in second place with 9.53. Rebecca Taylor took first junior female with yet another improved performance of 11.42.
Gerald Angus again showed his hill running strength with a well earned third spot in the Tap O'Noth Hill Race.
Well done to Barbara Anderson for taking 1st Female spot and to Frankie Barron for coming 3rd in the Keith 10k. Well done also to Nick Brown for his 3rd position in the Balloch Hill race (although a wrong turn in the showground at the end lost him 1st place).
Best wishes to Malcolm Smith for a speedy recovery after falling ill soon after completing the Dyce Half Marathon. Malcolm is admirably attempting a string of Half Marathons in aid of charity this year.
July 2009
Not too many events during this month, but well done to Nick Brown for coming first in a sub-10 mins run at the Moray 3k and to Gerald 'Knod' Angus for coming 4th at the Ben Rinnes 5 Peaks race.
June 2009
Congratulations to Jeremy Whittet - winner of this year's Knock Hill Race, and Runner-Up at both Quarrywood Forest and the Portsoy 10k.
Rebecca Taylor ran two excellent Forest Runs this month and she is starting to establish herself as a real prospect for the future. At Culbin, she came second in a time of 33.39, only 30 seconds behind top Forres athlete Eleanor Duncan. At Roseisle, she came third, but slightly closed the gap on Eleanor and is looking forward to two more further attempts to close the gap even further at Quarrywood and Monaughty.
Keith and District AAC fielded three teams for the first time in club history at this year's Elgin Marafun. The teams were running in tribute to Rosie Slack (see below). The ladies team did themselves and the club proud by coming first, whilst the Mens A team (Nick Brown, John Goodall, Jeremy Whittet, Steven Cox, and Mike Stewart) slipped to third place after inadvertently running an extra circuit of the town centre. The Mens B team (Malcolm Smith, Clive Streeter, Malcolm Mair, Chris Drury and Ron Wild) successfully completed a commendable Run4Rosie. Other club runners Gerald Angus, Frankie Barron, Steven Gill and Rebecca Taylor, also took part in the Marafun as part of other teams (Diageo, Keith Builders, Hydro Electric and Buckie Quines).

Elaine Brown, Marie Third, Kim Paterson, Marlene Wilson and Barbara Anderson all smiles after receiving news of their first place.
May 2009
Keith and District AAC members did the club proud at the Aberdeen Baker Hughes 10k (Sun 24 May) with fine performances from both the senior men and ladies. With previous winner Frankie Barton coming a respectable 5th in a time of 34.22, Mike Stewart 6th in a time of 34.42, and Nick Brown 12th in a time of 35.54, the men's senior team just lost out to Aberdeen AAC for first prize. Although missing out on the prizes, lady team members all ran well with Elaine Brown just short of a personal best in a time of 49.24, and Marie Third coming in just three seconds ahead of Kim Paterson in a time of 52.32.

Keith and District AAC triumphed again at this year's Benromach (Forres) 10k and also featured strongly in the overall Northern Scot 10k series (Nairn, Elgin and Forres).
The evergreen Men's Team of Frankie Barton (34.29) Ross Arbuckle (34.33) and Jeremy Whittet (34.48) won outright, with Nick Brown (35.44) picking up 1st Vet. It is a sign of the quality of the club that, despite its small size, the four all came in the top 7 out of a field of 230 finishers.
Frankie, meanwhile, impressively retained his title of overall Series Winner with a first place position in Elgin, a second in Nairn, and a third in Forres. Nick also successfully retained his Series 1st Vet award, whilst Elaine Brown was delighted to pick up her first running award in the Ladies Vet section.
K&D members are now in training for forthcoming events. For example, (i) the men are entering a team for the Aberdeen 10k at the end of May;(ii) 15 male and female club members (in three teams of 5) will be running in tribute of Rosie Slack at the Elgin Marafun on 7th June; (iii) Jog Leaders from the club will be supporting local joggers to take part in the Moray 5k Summer Challenge on 14th June.
