Here is a list of the events available that may be of interest to walkers, joggers and runners. Links to entry forms are included where possible. Note that our Home page highlights forthcoming events along the bottom, whilst the Walk Moray Events and Jog Moray Events sections contain more specific events. The websites of Forres Harriers and Moray Roadrunners meanwhile have comprehensive lists of local races. 2010Winter ChallengeThis year's 5k Winter Challenge takes place in Keith at 11.30a.m. on Sunday 5th December. More info to follow. June/July - Coasting Around
Walk-Jog-Run Moray is getting all set to take part in the pioneering 'Coasting Around Britain' event this summer (see www.coastersgb.co.uk for more general info). Subject to steady progress around the west coast of Britain, the baton is scheduled to arrive in Wick on 27th June, Inverness on 30th June and arrive at the Moray boundary in sufficient time for setting off in the morning of Thursday 1st July. Our planned handover locations, times and baton carriers are as follows: Thurs 1 July - 1000 - Culbin Cloddymoss - Forres Harriers and JS Forres; 1400 - Roseisle Forest - Moray Road Runners; 1800 - Lossiemouth Harbour - Elgin AAC and JS Elgin Fri 2 July - 1000 - Garmouth Hotel - Spey Runners and JS Fochabers; 1300 - Buckie Square - K&D AAC and JS Buckie; 1500 - Cullen Harbour - K&D AAC and JS Keith/Dufftown (to Portsoy Harbour 17.15 and Banff Harbour 19.15). Click here for Events list (note: an addition to the list is the RAF Base to Base Half Marathon on Sun 6 June at 1100) Click here for Entry Form for Garmouth Five 26 June Summer ChallengeThe Moray 5k Summer Challenge which takes place in central Elgin this year on the morning Sunday 13 June. The course is flat and scenic and ideal for beginners. There will also be a 1.5k for Juniors and wheelchair users. The proceeds of this event will go to the 'Pinto' Sports Moray Fund, which especially supports disadvantaged young people to partake in sports. (See 'Jog Moray Events' section for results) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------2009WinterClick here for an entry form to take part in the fourth Moray 5k Winter Challenge>> Walk, jog or run your way around our winter 5k challenge event, which is taking place for the first time in Fochabers on the morning of Sun 6 Dec 09. The route starts and finishes in the historic landscaped private gardens of the Gordon Castle Estate and is ideal for participants of all levels (age 16+). This year's event, hosted by JS Fochabers and Spey Runners, is in aid of Children First (more to follow). The fourth Winter 5k to be held by the WJRM partnership saw almost 90 finishers make their way back to the scenic gates of the Gordon Castle Estate in Fochabers ( See 'Jog Moray Events' section for full results). SummerMoray 5K Summer Challenge >> The third Moray 5k event saw around 135 people walk, jog, or run around the beautiful banks of the Lossie River in central Elgin using a new, more user-friendly route.
