In light of demand for provision of jog leading in Rothes, and rather than create another group only a few miles apart, we've decided to expand our current services. From the New Year, we'll be relaunched as 'JS Aberlour and Rothes'. ------------------------------------------------------------------------

The last race of the Northern Scot Series took place on the 15th at Benromach in Forres, having done well in the previous two races, Leanne and Angela completed their campaign in 51:26 and 47:53 respectively.
On the 23rd, the Baker Hughes 10k took place in Aberdeen. A good turn out of 5 JS Aberlour members ran on a nice day in Aberdeen.

Neil Smart made an interesting choice for his 'competetive debut' by competing in the Glenlivet 10k, despite the hilly course and warm weather, Neil successfully completed the course in a decent time of 1:05:41.
Leanne also did very well, running 50:38 and winning 'first local lady' Well done both!!

The first session of March was cancelled due to continuing poor weather in Aberlour, hopefully this will be the last cancellation of the winter!
March seen the start of the Northern Scot 10k Series with the first race taking place in Nairn on the 7th. Angela and Leanne completed the race in 47:47 and 48:10 respectively. In the second race of the series in Elgin on the 28th, both Angela and Leanne both ran personal best times of 47:31 and 48:04 respectively. Well done to both!!
The Inverness Half Marathon was held on the 14th with 3 members completing the course, Angela ran 1:47:32, Leanne ran 1:47:48 and Marie ran 1:54:34.

The weather in Aberlour played havoc with the weekly Jog Scotland sessions with only three meetings during the two months, even the Christmas get together had to be cancelled...

December 2009
On a chilly 13th of December, the annual Turkey Trot took place in Lossiemouth. Angela, Leanne and Marie slipped their way round the 10 miles in respectable times considering the cold conditions.

On the 4th of October, the Baxters Loch Ness Festival of Running was held in Inverness. Marie and Stacey ran the Marathon and Angela and Leanne entered the 10k. After a delayed start due to problems with buses, Marie ran 4:28:20 and Stacey did 4:47:29. Angela completed the 10k in 47:55 and Leanne did it in 48:22.
September 2009
The Moray Marathons were held on the 13th with 4 runners from JS Aberlour competing in the half marathon, Leanne and Angela were competing in their first half and ran an impressive 1:50:18. Marie ran 1:54:11 and Stacey ran 2:05:22
The Dyke 10k took place on the 27th, Leanne ran in a time of 49:11

'Still Running' Dufftown Jog Scotland celebrated their first anniversary on August 15th by holding a 5k fun run around Dufftown. Paula Cook, Helen Bremner and Iris Murray completed the course in a time of 45:56 Leanne Barry ran round in 24:30, an impressive time given the undulating course.

Congratulations to Helen Bremner who participated in the 13 mile Fraserburgh Moonlight Prowl starting at 10pm on June 6th, the Moonlight Prowl is a charity walk designed to raise the awareness of breast cancer and to raise funds for research in to this disease. Helen's daughter Audrey Gordon and son in law Kevin walked the full 26.2 miles of the Edinburgh Moonwalk on June 22nd also to raise money for the fight against breast cancer, we are still awaiting the pictures of Kevin in his creativly decorated bra... Angela Reid finished an impressive 19th in the Moray 5k Summer Challenge on June 8th at Cooper Park, Elgin in a time of 23:16
