December
A really good meal at The Royal for the Keith Jog Scotland crew, many thanks to Barbara for organising the meal and trying her best with the Secret Santa. Thanks to Kim for blowing-up Knod's zimmer frame and being the MC for the night.

October
The next 8 week set of Jog Scotland sessions start on Monday 24th October and run through until 12th December. We will continue to bring as much variety as possible during the winter nights although we will be limited to the streets of Keith for this period. The Moray 5k winter challenge is on 4th December and the 10 mile Turkey Trot is on the 11th December so anyone with either of these two goals in mind can put in some serious work leading up to these two races. For those of us with gentler ambitions we will continue with the walking and jogging groups as normal with plenty of opportunity to have a good blather, put the world to rights and feel good about our self !

Well done to all the Keith Jog Scotland members, who turned out when Keith & District hosted the North District Cross Country fixture on Saturday 29th October. Described as a 'real cross country' course I'm sure Elaine Jamieson, Tracey, Kim and Loretta just loved the experience and will be back for more soon !!!! . Frankie, Knod and Ron also turned out to try and improve their looks with a mud facial.

Senior Women Kim Patterson 31.45 Tracey Bremner 31.52 Elaine Jameson 36.59 Loretta Gray 37.06

With the current sessions coming to an end some of the group decided to try out for the Loch Ness10k. It was clear that the hard work during summer / autumn sessions had paid off with some excellent times being posted in this well organised race culminating in the lovely setting of Bught Park Inverness.
Well do to all those racing over the distance for the first time and setting PB's, hopefully the first of many !

AUGUST
If you are interest in Walking - Jogging - or Running come along to the next JOG SCOTLAND session starting on
Monday 15th August. You will find people of your own ability with at least four groups who will cover between 2 and 5 miles.
Each session starts at 18:30 from the Keith Community Centre and will last 40 - 60 minutes, all for the cost of £1.
The block will last for 8 weeks and will incorporate additional structure and variation.
Ideal for if you want to run 10k, a 5k or just improve your level of fitness.
Come and give it a try.
Up untill the 15th August :- Over the summer months although there is no official sessions the group will continue to meet on a Monday night. All this means is that there may be fewer jog leaders around and the sessions may not be as structured, so please continue to turn up.

Feb 2011
A good turnout last night despite the cold! We're 5 weeks into our first programme of 2011 and already there are signs of significant progress towards the goals we've been setting be it 5k, 10k, half marathon or just getting fitter. Well done to Angela who with Frankie, strode up the hills with great gusto, and well done to Suzanne too who having had 2 weeks off showed great determination and soon will be jogging all the way round the 5k route.
Look forward to seeing you all next week.
Jog Scotland Keith and Keith and District Amateur Athletics Club have been working together recently to discuss the potential of creating a Keith Junior Athletics Group. It is hoped to start this new group towards the end of March following coach education training by local leaders/coaches. The Moray Council Sports Development team are currently delivering free junior athletics sessions in Keith through funding obtained from the Proceeds of Crime Act. These sessions are currently being attended by 46 youngsters so it is imperative that there is a pathway for these youngsters to continue their participation in athletics when this ten week block comes to an end. More info to follow. In the meantime any comments/feedback on this area please contact Kim Paterson on 07814 203502.
Jog Scotland Keith have been increasing their membership at Keith since the New Year which is excellent news. Any new member is welcome to come along to any Monday night session regardless of age or ability. To improve communication between the leaders and group members it was decided to devise a quarterly newsletter. Click here for the January edition.
